Dance: Kindermusik (0-18 mos & 18 mos-3 yrs)
Once
Upon A Dance Class (ages 3-5)
Level
One: beginners, ages 6-8

Two: intermediate, ages 8-12

Three: Ages 12+
Lyrical
Lyrical dance is
derivative of many forms of dance with a basis
in ballet. It is
primarily about infusing movement with emotional
information. Musicality
and expression are the emphasis.
Ballet
The basics. Pure and
simple. This class is designed to instill
technique and strength.
A strong grasp of ballet is mandatory
in order to avoid
injury.
Competitive
Ballet
This class is for the
keen student who wishes to improve core
strength and
flexibility. Elements of floor barre and center work
are incorporated to
improve leaps and turns and general
technical strength.
Jazz
Jazz dance is an
amalgamation of a variety of dance forms.
Athleticism and power
are the focus. The exciting impact of
huge leaps, complicated
turns and phrases of movement are
explored.
Hip
Hop
Hip hop is influenced by
urban sensibilities, fashion and music.
It is grounded,
percussive and impactful. This form of movement
emphasizes a dynamic
vocabulary and enormous attitude.
Tap
Tap technique will be
instilled in a variety of styles, ranging from
“Old School
Broadway” to “Tap Dogs” styles. As the level
advances, so do the
sophistication of the syncopations.
Acting
An awareness of the
human condition and an ability to
accurately portray that
condition is the goal of our acting class.
Students will become
familiar with scene work, character
development and audition
technique.
Voice
Basic breath control
techniques, voice control and pitch are the
focus of these classes.
Preparation for auditions and vocal
performances can be
arranged through private instruction.
Acro
The fundamentals of
acrobatics (mat work) are the focus of these
classes. Exploration of
contortionism and partner balances will
also be addressed.
Kindermusik
This nationally
recognized program for children and caregivers
emphasizes the joy of music and
movement.
